Collection of Preserved Flower Raw Materials
There are three main types of flower materials commonly used for preserved flowers: cluster-shaped flowers used as the main flower, linear flowers used to express the sense of lines in the work, and embellishment filling flowers used to fill space and enrich the picture.
The selection of preserved flower materials requires flowers that have just matured, have a tough texture, have less water content in the petals, are thick, and are small and dark-colored. The collection of leaf materials requires thick, rough-textured leaves that are easy to shape and not easy to curl, with good flexibility and stiffness. The collection of branch materials, stem materials, and other materials also requires good shape and quality, and reasonable selection according to different purposes.
The collection of eternal flower plant materials is a meticulous and important job, which directly affects the final drying effect and the yield of finished products. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid damaging the materials and collecting weak and diseased branches. To improve the yield of finished products, the collected materials need to be sorted. Removing weak and diseased branches, side branches and buds, as well as dense leaves, flowers, inflorescences, and fruit branches can speed up the drying process due to better ventilation. Finally, to standardize production, the materials need to be cut and graded according to the size of the dried flower standard before drying.
